I got my start in the pipe organ world in Baltimore when an organbuilder friend of mine asked if I would be interested in holding keys for tunings he had scheduled. In fairly short order this led to further work rebuilding electro-pneumatic instruments at Lewis and Hitchcock, a pipe organ shop established in Maryland in 1923.
I soon became enthralled with the way these instruments function, how they combine technologies that span centuries and how their sound emerges from specific spaces of devotion.
My family has roots in Cape Ann where the Fisk shop is located. It is my good fortune to continue in this trade learning from the people here. It is very satisfying to see an instrument take shape; the product of many talents and much ingenuity.
